D.O.T. Requirements
To pass the DOT physical exam, the driver must pass the following minimum standards:
- Be "Fit For Duty".
- If your urinalysis reveals glucose in your urine, you will be expected to have blood work done.
- Your blood pressure has to be lower than 140/90; Prescription medication may be used to control blood pressure.
- You must be able to distinguish various colors.
- You should be able to perceive a forced whisper at a distance of at least five feet.
- Diabetes controlled through a diet or an oral medication is permitted. Insulin dependent diabetics may be eligible.
- Vision in both eyes as well as each eye individually needs to be 20/40, with visual improvement devices, such as glasses or contacts allowed.
- Some medical conditions require further testing.
